Kari and Simon were married at the historical St. Francis Chapel in New Roads, Louisiana.  Ray and I had never been to New Roads so we were excited for a new adventure.  When we were driving in we were amazed by the beautiful False River that ran along side the town.  Kari and her bridesmaids got ready in the most gorgeous home that belonged to a family friend.  It overlooked the water and had the most beautiful landscaping.  Everyone there was full of joy and laughter.  I truly was a magical time.  I had not seen the St. Francis Chapel yet and was completely awestruck by it’s beauty when we arrived.  If you have never been there, I highly recommend that you visit it.  The ceremony was perfect in every way.  Once the happy couple said “I Do” it was off to party at the reception.  There, they danced the night away to the amazing Something Blue Band.  There were cartwheels, alligator crawls and many other sights to see at this fun reception!  We were so happy to share a small party in Kari and Simon’s special day and wish them much love and happiness.  Congratulations!! ♥

Here are a few words from Kari:

How and where did you meet?
We met through going to the same school together. We were in different grades, but being from such a small school and community everyone knew everyone and as we got older began to all hang out together.

Where was your first date? What did you do?
We had dinner together at Logan’s roadhouse as just good friends or so we thought. By the end of that night, we both realized our close friendship had turned into something more.

When did you know he was the one?
I’m not sure if there was one specific point but after 5 years together and all that we enjoyed and overcame together, when he asked me to marry him I had absolutely no doubt in mind about my answer.

When/how did you get engaged?
February 12th of last year, my birthday. Best birthday present I could have ever asked for. The day stated early with many activities planned but there was definitely a huge surprise in the middle of it all. We were engaged on his family’s pier on the river, a spot that had become special to us over our years of dating. 

What are your favorite things to do together? Hobbies?
Our favorite hobbies are hunting and fishing and we absolutely love enjoying them together. Being able to share the same joy as each other while doing these things makes it that much better doing it together.
