I am so happy to finally share Ms. Mila’s newborn photos.  It’s taken me a while to finish them because I edited the entire gallery as a gift for her mother.  It was the least I could do.  You see, just three short weeks before Mila was born, her father Jon was killed in a tragic accident.  When I heard the news my heart just broke into pieces for Portia and Mila and I knew I wanted to do something special for them.  Portia asked me if there was any way I could include Jon in a few of the photos.  I didn’t have a lot of experience in this area so I started researching and planning so that we could photograph her and Mila in such a way that I could include a picture of Jon from one of their wedding photos.  We did both a framed photo of him and a digital composite where he was placed into a photo with his family.  Tears were shed during the planning, the session itself and the editing and I think about sweet Mila and her mommy very often.  I follow Mila’s growth on Facebook and although a part of them is gone and I know they are still healing, I love seeing their sweet smiles.  Mila was a miracle for Portia and I am so thankful that they have each other.  Say a little prayer for this sweet mom and daughter and hug your families tight.
