Angelina & Scott | A Benedict’s Plantation Wedding, Mandeville La.
I am so excited to share Angelina & Scott’s wedding day images! I knew from my first meeting with Angelina that this was going to be an epic adventure and they surely didn’t disappoint. The weather was rainy and gloomy all day and even though things weren’t going as planned, Angelina couldn’t stop smiling. She was so excited to marry her guy. 🙂 The wedding was suppose to be outdoors at Benedict’s plantation with the reception inside. Unfortunately, with the poor weather conditions everything was moved inside. Even though it wasn’t as planned, everything still went perfectly. Angelina and Scott wrote their own vows in adorable notebooks and there wasn’t a dry eye in the place when they were read. Once the ceremony was over, chairs were moved and the Harvey Jesus and Fire rocked the dance floor all night. There wasn’t a dull moment the entire time as they all danced the night away. Definitely one of the most fun receptions we have ever shot! We were all having so much fun inside that we didn’t realize it was still pouring outside! The images of Angelina and Scott second-lining out of the front door into the storm are priceless! I was so happy they had those umbrellas! 😉
I always ask my brides to tell me a little about their relationship, how they met, etc. so here are a few words from Angelina.
How and where did you meet?
We met in my mom’s 7th grade CCD Sunday school class at St Margaret Mary Church in Slidell. He was the class clown! We didn’t date until years later, but we were in the same circle of friends all in high school.
Where was your first date? What did you do?
Since high school and college, we went our separate ways and reconnected when I moved back home from teaching in Texas, June 2011, and it just so happened to be the weekend before Scott left to be stationed in Japan for 2 years with the Marines. We Skyped and texted for a whole year then he returned home for a few weeks of leave. During those few weeks, he swept me right off my feet. So our first official date was very delayed. We got all dressed up and he took me to a fancy steak house.
When did you know he was the one?
When he left for Japan, I never stopped thinking about him and missed him more and more.
When/how did you get engaged?
November 20, 2015 at the Christmas in the Oaks Preview Party. When we passed this beautiful oak tree decorated with blue dripping lights, I turned to him and told him that it would be a great time to confess his love to me so he did and got down on one knee.
What are your favorite things to do together? Hobbies?
We love going to the movies! We sneak in icees and candy in my huge bag we call the “icee” purse. We love hanging out with our family and friends, and I make sure to keep our schedules packed visits.
Any funny stories about yourselves?
First Kiss- On the last night before Scott left for Japan (June 2011), we hung out at his house and watched a movie. Afterwards, he went to drop me off back home. He parked and walked me to the door. I opened the screen door and turned around. He grabbed my hand and said “I wish I didn’t have to go.” He kissed me. As he turned to go back to his car, I slapped him on the backside. He turned around as I winked and said “Go get em, Tiger!”
What kind of jobs do you both have?
Angelina- Career Counselor at Loyola University New Orleans and Scott- teaching
What things do you love most about him/her?
Scott is always up for any adventure. He is so funny and makes the room light up. Scott is also the most patient and absolute sweetest person I know. He has some sweet dance moves which is a huge bonus! I know in my heart that he is my better half and is my perfect balance. We are the best bookends for each other!
